Javier Lopez has an extensive curriculum of studies in many art techniques
and individual expositions of his work in the state of Michoacan, Mexico as
well as in Yakima, Washington.
Javier Lopez was born in Morelia, Michoacan in 1965. He attended the
School of Popular Arts of the University of Michoacan from 1988 to 1992,
specializing in sculpture and ceramics. From 1987 to 1989 he also studied
drawing and painting at the Michoacan Institute of Culture. From 1997 to
2004 he took various courses in painting, engraving, fresco, temple,
watercolor and sketching. In 1997 he received a diploma in Photo Journalism
from the University of Morelia.
This multi-talented artist has also participated in collective expositions in
Brazil, Rumania and Chicago, Illinois. He has received prizes forhis work
from 1997 to 2008 in various contests in Morelia, and he has designed a
number of book covers and music album covers. He has donated artworks
to the Michoacan program against cancer and the Yakima, Washington
Regional Medical and Cardiac Center.
