HAPPY HOLIDAY EVENTS Can you believe how fast the year has gone by? The pilgrimages to the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe started on Dec. 1st, and will continue through Dec. 12th in downtown Pto. Vallarta. CHRISTMAS GIFT SUGGESTIONS Puerto Vallarta offers a world of unique gift ideas for Christmas because there are so many artisans who create unusual items that you will never find in the look- alike malls of the world. For the lady in your life you can´t miss with a piece of dramatic one of a kind jewelry. Many of our new rings at Galeria Vallarta are designed to be adjustable in size, with opals, amethysts and other natural stones. Italian and Mexican artists who reside in Taxco are creating some exquisite necklaces, bracelets and earrings. The Lozano bronze necklaces and earrings are sure to bring you lots of complements, completely handcrafted.
The Felguerez whimsical sculptures of children at play, sports figures, and musical figures (there is a whole orchestra complete with conductor) make ideal and colorful gifts for many people on your list. Photos can be sent by email and we can ship your sculptures to you.
Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera prints are of special interest this year because of the movie "Frida". Galeria Vallarta has canvas prints, posters and small framed prints of these artists. Also you will find a large selection of Christmas cards by Mexican artists which benefit the orphans of Mexico. What better gift than an original painting? There is such a variety of sizes, styles and prices in Mexican art, that you are sure to find the right one, and of course you can always give a gift certificate so your loved one can make their own choice. Vallarta offers wonderful choices in ceramics, glassware, nativity sets and leather goods. For collectors of ethnic art, how about a beaded figure or yarn painting by the Huichol Indians, a ceremonial mask from Guerrero or folk art from Oaxaca? Merry Christmas to all!
THE VALUE OF TIME There is a bank that credits your account each morning with $86,400. It carries over no balance from day to day. Every evening deletes whatever part of the balance you failed to use during the day. What would you do? Draw out ALL OF IT, of course!!!! Each of us has such a bank. Its name is TIME. Every morning, it credits you with 86,400 seconds. Every night it writes off, as lost, whatever of this you have failed to invest to good purpose. It carries over no balance. It allows no overdraft.
Each day it opens a new account for you. Each night it burns the remains of the day. If you fail to use the day's deposits, the loss is yours. There is no going back. There is no drawing against the "tomorrow." You must live in the present on today's deposits. Invest it so as to get from it the utmost in health, happiness, and success! The clock is running. Make the most of today.
To realize the value of ONE YEAR, ask a student who failed a grade.
To realize the value of ONE MONTH, ask a mother who gave birth to a premature baby.
To realize the value of ONE WEEK, ask the editor of a weekly newspaper.
To realize the value of ONE HOUR, ask the lovers who are waiting to meet.
To realize the value of ONE MINUTE, ask a person who missed the train.
To realize the value of ONE-SECOND, ask a person who just avoided an accident.
To realize the value of ONE MILLISECOND, ask the person who won a silver medal in the Olympics.
Treasure every moment that you have! And treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time.
And remember that time waits for no one. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That's why it's called the present!!!
Friends are a very rare jewel, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they share a word of praise, and they always want to open their heart to us.

PAT HENRY´S ART Many of you have read Pat Henry´s fascinating book "By the Grace of the Sea" and have heard about how she went around the world and exhibiting her art in many countries of the world. She lost much of her art in Hurricane Kenna but Galeria Vallarta is proud to present a group of her signed and numbered art prints of Puerto Vallarta, which are very special, and are very limited in number. She also has some Christmas cards which are being shown at both galleries. If you haven´t read her book, make sure to order one for Christmas. It makes a great gift.
